Waterguard

The Waterguard is responsible for ensuring that the dam, intakes, desander/ desilting basin, conveyance line, surge tank and penstock are well maintained and operating efficiently, and recommends/introduces improvement thereto to achieve optimum plant capability. 

• Keeps intakes or water sources free from silt/obstruction at all times. 
• Ensures uninterrupted water supply to the conveyance line and penstock intakes.
• Monitors and maintains water level to attain maximum water utilization.  
• Coordinates with the plant operator on duty regarding water availability.
• Conducts system inspection and reports to the Plant/Maintenance Engineer any abnormality or impending problem which may cause disruption of operation.
• Monitors the system at all times especially during high flow and regulates the opening of flushing and blow-off gates at the dam and desander respectively.
• Performs streamflow/gauging and records rainfall data and submits records to the Plant Engineer. 
• Cleans and trims tall grasses along the system for convenient access during inspection and routine maintenance.
• Maintains cleanliness at bunkhouse and at his work area.

During Rehabilitation Period

• Assists maintenance personnel during annual rehabilitation activities. 

• Must be at least Senior Highschool Graduate, preferably a holder of technical/vocational degree.
• Preferably with experience in routine inspection and maintenance of various water intakes.
• One (1) vacant position available in Benguet.
