Waterguard

The waterguard will be responsible for ensuring that the dam, intakes desander/desilting basin, conveyance lines surge tank and penstock are well maintained and operating effectively and recommend / introduces improvements thereto to achieve optimum plant capacity.
1. Keeps intakes or water sources free from silt/obstruction at all times. 
2. Ensures uninterrupted water supply to the conveyance line and penstock intakes.
3. Monitors and maintains water level to attain maximum water utilization.  
4. Coordinates with the plant operator on duty regarding water availability.
5. Conducts system inspection and reports to the Plant/Maintenance Engineer any abnormality or impending problem which may cause disruption of operation.
6. Monitors the system at all times especially during high flow and regulates the opening of flushing and blow-off gates at the dam and desander respectively.
7. Performs streamflow/gauging and records rainfall data and submits records to the Plant Engineer. 
8. Cleans and trims tall grasses along the system for convenient access during inspection and routine maintenance.
9. Maintains cleanliness at bunkhouse and at his work area.

 

Qualifications:
Must be a senior highschool graduate,preferably a holder of technical/vocational degree.
Preferably with experience in routine inspection and maintenance of various water intakes.
