As Technical L&D Instructor, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of technical learning and development programs aimed at ensuring effective knowledge and skills transfer through classroom, computer-based, hands-on training, and other modalities. The role also focuses on supervising learners and evaluating their performance, collaborating with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with the business needs and industry standards. and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with technical teams to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Design and develop technical L&D plans, programs, and curricula to (1) address the current and desired level of proficiency of an employee in their required technical competencies as reflected in their individual development plans (IDP), (2) need to increase or upskill the proficiency level in their required technical competencies (i.e. moving to a different technology or different position), and (3) implied organizational needs and/or opportunities that could be met by conducting technical training.

Design and develop materials for various L&D interventions, including but not limited to training manuals, e-learning modules, video materials and ensure that these are up-to-date, relevant, engaging, and aligned with industry standard.

Conduct various L&D interventions, including but not limited to face-to-face lectures, computer-based training, workshops, hands-on simulations, on-the-job training, coaching sessions, and virtual learning programs to enhance competencies and support employee development.

Assist the Technical Academy L&D Coordinator in collecting technical L&D needs using various methods (e.g. interviews, surveys, etc), analyzing results, and translating them into targeted L&D intervention.

Support the Technical Academy L&D Sr. Manager in strategizing, planning, and ensuring execution of technical programs and initiatives necessary to develop competencies for the entire organization.

Perform ad hoc works for the Global Technical Center of Excellence (GTCOE) (i.e. serving as an instructor) as and when appropriate.

Continuously evaluate and update instructional materials to ensure alignment with the power station's as-built condition, standard operating procedures, philosophy, and best practices.

Maintain the simulator equipment by ensuring its proper functionality, conducting routine checks, coordinating necessary repairs or upgrades, and managing its availability for training sessions.

Collaborate with subject matter experts in designing, developing, and delivering technical L&D program and instructional materials.

Oversee identified subject matter experts on their training delivery and facilitation skills.

Support in the monitoring of technical L&D resources and budget to ensure effective utilization.

Liaise and collaborate with external training providers, professional organizations, and training center and institutions to enhance the organization's technical L&D programs and initiatives.

Provide support to Technical Academy flagship programs, including but not limited to Technical Onboarding, Technical Internship, Technical Graduate Program, and Technical Career Track through delivery of L&D interventions (ie. training) as per L&D plans.

Continuously enhance technical expertise and L&D skill, stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and integrate them into professional practice.

Develop and maintain accurate records related to L&D delivery and operation, including training plans, attendance records, assessment results, feedback reports, and program evaluations.

Support and mentor participants who are having difficulty progressing through the L&D program by developing and implementing remedial plans to reinforce learning objectives.

Support and collaborate with Technical Academy L&D Coordinator in regularly communicating updates and key information about programs and initiatives of Technical Academy to internal stakeholders, ensuring awareness and engagement.

Administer appropriate L&D assessment tool to ensure that learning objectives are met.

Perform evaluation and effectiveness review of provided L&D programs and provide immediate interventions as necessary.

Acts as a panel member of revalida to ensure that employees are qualified in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform their identified tasks safely and efficiently.

Assess the qualifications, expertise, and competence of potential assessors to ensure they are suitable for the evaluation and assessment process.

Serves as a liaison between Technical Academy and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration on training initiatives.

Conforms to the company's Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Asset Management, Energy Management, Business Continuity Management System and Information Security Management Systems policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 55001, ISO 50001, and ISO 22301 Standards.

Reports Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Information Security events/incidents or potential events, or other security risks to the organization/committees-in-charge.

Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies.
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
- English proficient in both oral and written communication

Has expertise in competency-based, experiential, reflective, adaptive and facilitative training methods
- Past experience teaching at university is an advantage
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering or any related course. Post-graduate studies in engineering is an advantage.

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical L&D development, delivery and facilitation, and evaluation

At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance in thermal power plant generation

Diploma or certification in Learning and Development is an advantage.

License Required Registered engineer; professional engineer is an advantage
