Job Summary

 

The Systems Operations and Substation Engineer is responsible for implementing and executing power system operations, as well as the installation, maintenance, and testing of substations and equipment. This role ensures the reliable, safe, and cost-effective operation of substations across the franchise area in compliance with company policies, standards, and the Philippine Electrical Code. The position also supports SCADA operations, load monitoring, system reporting, and project implementation to guarantee uninterrupted, high-quality service to customers.

 

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and testing of substation equipment
  • Troubleshoot and support repairs of distribution transformers and related assets
  • Handle system operations, including load monitoring, incident reporting, and emergency call dispatching
  • Conduct load flow analysis and submit recommendations for the Distribution Development Plan
  • Monitor substation and feeder loading, and prepare MVAR, system loss, and distortion reports
  • Manage and maintain SCADA and radio communication equipment
  • Plan and implement approved projects, monitor progress, and prepare variation orders if needed.

 

 

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer.
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in substation maintenance and system operations.
  • Familiarity with PEC, PDC, and Grid Code compliance.
  • Proficient in SCADA systems and load flow analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, Synergi).
  • Knowledge of power system troubleshooting and emergency response.
  • Skilled in preparing technical reports and using work order systems (e.g., WAM, Agila)
  • Preferably with a professional driver's license with restriction codes 1 and 2.
