Systems Operations and Substation Engineer
Job Summary
The Systems Operations and Substation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the reliable, safe, and cost-effective operation of power substations within our franchise area. This role is responsible for system monitoring, substation maintenance, load management, and emergency operations to ensure continuous and high-quality service delivery. The position oversees maintaining system efficiency and ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and company procedures.
- Operate and monitor power systems and substation equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance and testing of electrical assets
- Prepare technical reports, load profiles, and compliance documents
- Manage SCADA and communication systems
- Support project implementation and emergency response
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across operations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer.
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience in substation maintenance and system operations.
- Familiarity with PEC, PDC, and Grid Code compliance.
- Proficient in SCADA systems and load flow analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, Synergi).
- Knowledge of power system troubleshooting and emergency response.
- Skilled in preparing technical reports and using work order systems (e.g., WAM, Agila)
- Preferably with a professional driver's license with restriction codes 1 and 2.
