System Operation Engineer

As a System Operation Engineer, you will be responsible for the control, monitoring, and managing of the entire power system within the franchise area to ensure that its operations are within established standards, compliance, regulations, and sound engineering practice. You will work closely with the System Operation team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Controlling and monitoring power system data and checks for disturbance and/or abnormalities to ensure power system stability.

• Preparing necessary reports, not limited to, substation loading, operational statistics, reliability indices reports, and other related documents and reports.

• Overseeing overall power system operation, not limited to, electrical parameters such as voltage, current, load, frequency in allowable threshold, as well as substation transformer annunciation monitoring, mechanical protection alarms monitoring, laterals and customers reclosers, efficient restoration of unplanned outages, monitoring of radio broadcasts, and other related operational functions such as logging of events, data and other information pertaining to VE System Operation.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Registered Electrical Engineer

• Driver’s License is an advantage

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Understands substation operations, protection systems, and outage management

• Can interpret system data and prepare operational and reliability reports

• Has basic knowledge of a SCADA systems or any systems related to real-time monitoring

• Demonstrates solid troubleshooting skills for system disturbances and abnormalities
