Role Summary:

The position holder is responsible for managing the overall project development processes to deliver all committed solar energy projects of ARI.

Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and complete the employer’s requirements to define the success and outcome of solar projects. This shall include Commercial, Technical, and Legal details but are not limited to

  • Key project development deliverables, reporting mechanisms, and timelines

  • Identification of the scope of services required

  • Prescriptive and or performance specifications

  • Identification of site information and citing of project facilities

  • Procedures for inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover

  • Tender packages

  • Design liability

  • Requirements for warranties

  • Allocation of risk 

  • Establish the investment and business case by managing the project feasibility & design development process including concept & design reviews with internal and external independent reviewers.

  • Establishes budget and ensures key project deliverables are being met in order to comply with the financing Conditions Precedent as per the loan agreement.

  • Ensure project financial models are kept up to date to improve the competitiveness of assigned projects. Manage the internal financial approval process for assigned development projects

  • Interface with and coordinate inputs from subject matter experts, including engineering, legal, procurement, and construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective execution of assigned solar projects.

  • Ensures project activities are being carried out in accordance with policies and guidelines established by Project Development including Health, Safety, Environment, and Social policies.

  • Management and involvement in local community programs required under law or concession. Identifies additional programs (in conjunction with the Stakeholder Relations and Compliance Division).

  • Identifies issues and manages consultants for ongoing environmental compliance.

  • Coordinates acquisition (or leasing) of necessary land and easements for implementation, post-financial close.

  • Manages the administration of all contracts related to the Project to

    • Ensure each party’s obligations are met

    • Resolve contractual issues including claims, variations, notices, disputes, etc.

  • Leads and facilitates the following processes to ensure timely completion, cost-effective and competitive results of Solar Projects.

    • Project Assessment and Design

    • Tendering

    • Quality Assurance system

    • Social compliance processes

  • Environmental compliance and securing of the ECC, land rights applicable for purchase or lease, and agreement of MOAs with LGUs.

Minimum Qualification

  • 10 years of relevant experience where 7 years are in Solar Project Development

  • 7 Years of leadership experience

  • 10 years of project experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil)

  • Licensed Engineer

Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree
