Role Overview

As a Senior Design Engineer specializing in rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, you will lead the design efforts for solar PV projects specifically for rooftop installations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll oversee all design aspects from conceptualization to implementation.

  • Design Review and Approval: Review and approve rooftop solar PV project plans produced by junior design engineers, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Review: Thoroughly review Bills of Materials (BOMs) produced by junior design engineers, verifying the accuracy of material lists, quantities, specifications, and costs.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior design engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications to identify any errors, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all rooftop solar PV project designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards, including structural integrity requirements and permitting specifications.
  • Collaborative Support: Collaborate with junior design engineers and other cross-functional teams to address design-related challenges, resolve technical issues, and optimize project outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and knowledge sharing to drive overall team performance and quality standards.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical training to junior design engineers to support their professional development and skill enhancement.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate closely with project managers, implementation teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design activities with project timelines and objectives.
  • Client Communication: Participate in client meetings and discussions as needed to provide technical expertise, address design-related inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction with project deliverables.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate documentation of design reviews, approvals, and revisions to facilitate project tracking, compliance reporting, and future reference.
