SHE Engineer - OSH
- Research and devise controls (e.g. engineering controls )and leads the conduct of audit and inspection of machinery/equipment and critical activities such as energy isolations,hotworks, confined spaces, excavation, critical lift, etc. to minimise hazards and ensure that work is done in a safe and incident-free manner
- Submit technical evaluations for projects, audit reports, and other inspection reports with recommendations to address non-compliance or minimise loss.
- Conducts inspection of workplaces to provide assistance in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of occupational health and safety hazards.
- Provides technical support and information in the development and analysis of key OSH metrics, goals and objectives to drive SHE culture, compliance and desired results.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of OSH training program and conduct of training to employees to ensure awareness on OSH protocols and requirements.
- Validate hazards and risks to people and properties identified. Compels or recommends the cessation of work to address potential urgent or imminent hazards.
- Review the Safe Work Method Statement and Risk assessments for hazardous and non-routine tasks and lead OSH project execution.
- Co-facilitate SHES Committee and act as a Safety Officer of the Company.
- Resolve issues/concerns in relation to technical safety monitoring and measurements including the calibration of monitoring equipment and other engineering installations related to OSH.
- Evaluate current, new, and changing processes/requirements and the effectiveness of existing/new controls using a risk analysis tool during investigations, critical activities and the like to ensure compliance to regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Assists during incident investigations to determine the cause of the accident/injuries, violations to the company’s procedures, and recommend controls to prevent recurrence.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum
- At least 3 years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) or a related field
- Involved in at least one SHE-related initiative, with experience as a project member or higher
- Preferably a license holder relevant to the field (e.g., PRC or equivalent)
