SCM Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Head
The Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Managers shall drive implementation and execution of supply chain’s strategic objectives and business plan and the governance efforts of 1RE supply chain strategy, aligning with the strategic objectives of the enterprise, creating value generating opportunities (where it makes sense) and contributing to the competitive advantage of 1AP. The position will also be directly responsible for leading and executing relevant category management and strategic sourcing chain efforts for 1RE and the subsequent delivery of significant savings and value to 1RE. The position will involve leading a team of Category Leads, Strategic Sourcing Specialists providing shared services.
The position shall be responsible for the design and execution of business-wide category strategies including capex expenditures, high value/high risk transactions, that deliver value to the organization. These include:
- Establishing, leading and developing the capability of cross functional category teams
- Liaising with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership of products and services
- Developing and project-managing the execution of category strategies
- Acting as the interface between internal stakeholders, category owners and suppliers
- Providing strategic input into category management frameworks and approaches
Responsibilities
Strategy Development
- Leads the development of category management and strategic sourcing strategies that influence and shape business decisions, thereby reducing risk and delivering value through total cost of ownership and operational excellence improvements, innovation and ESG / sustainability
- Continuously scans the category management and strategic sourcing environment to keep abreast of global best approaches and trends and synthesizes the knowledge to develop ideas for category strategy improvements
- Ensures the effective integration between category management and other components of the supply chain such as contract management, tactical procurement/ sourcing, logistics management, inventory and warehouse management, etc.
- Designs effective SCM data strategies, standards and structures that insight to support business decision-making
Category Strategy Business Integration and Execution
- Clearly articulates the category management vision and objectives, both internally within the department and externally. Creates clarity and focus around the strategic direction for category management.
- Ensures sound planning takes place such as demand and supply planning, forecasting and category project and procurement planning to deliver coherent action plans
- Responsible for optimizing inter-category synergies
- Provides guidance to category managers on the establishment of TCO models, “should-cost” models and other category management tools
- Aligns supply chain strategy with enterprise risk, diversity and sustainability /ESG priorities
- Develops strategy implementation metrics to track improvements over time, monitors execution and modifies plans where appropriate to keep pace with changing business imperatives
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Responsible for ensuring effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers are forged and managed, to maximize value to the organization
- Implements supplier development strategies to ensure supply chain resiliency
- Lobbies senior executive support and buy-in for relevant category management initiatives.
People Leadership
- Builds category and business management teams in accordance with development and retention strategy
- Develops and implements succession planning
- Establishes a motivated high performance culture within the supply chain environment
Others
- Prepares the annual training budget as input for Personnel Cost
- Deliver the relevant administrative, human resources and other support functions inherent and expected from a team leader
- Extend relevant support to other departments such as, but not limited to cascading and/or adopting initiatives, programs, projects and activities
- Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies. Maintains availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the TL
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering field or other related disciplines; technical background with financial exposure is preferred

At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in power plant-related fields and supply chain management, covering materials planning, category management, strategic sourcing, procurement operations, logistics, warehouse, and inventory management

At least 3 years of leadership experience at a managerial level

Proven experience in leading and executing category management and strategic sourcing initiatives
