The Public Relations Supervisor is responsible for implementing and overseeing the company’s public relations strategy to build and maintain a positive reputation across regions. The role leads the development of region-specific stories, manages media relations, and ensures consistent messaging aligned with corporate communication goals. The PR Lead supervises two regional PR Specialists and collaborates closely with the Corporate Communications Head to protect and strengthen the company’s public image. He/She shall be accountable for the following areas:

  • Public relations
  • Media relations 
  • Content development for PR
  • Crisis communication 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Implement the company’s public relations plans to strengthen visibility, manage reputation, and promote corporate and regional initiatives.
  • Develop PR programs, campaigns, and content calendars in coordination with the Corporate Communications Head and aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure timely production and dissemination of press releases, media advisories, success stories, feature articles, and other earned media content

Media Relations and Story Placement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key national and regional media outlets, editors, reporters, bloggers, and government information officers.
  • Identify media opportunities and proactively pitch stories, interviews, and features that showcase the company’s projects, programs, and impact.
  • Monitor and respond to media queries and coordinate interview preparations, including talking points, media briefs, and event coverage.

Regional PR Oversight and Coordination

  • Supervise and guide Regional PR Specialists in developing and executing localized PR initiatives.
  • Ensure that regional stories and milestones are effectively captured, documented, and pitched to appropriate media outlets.
  • Provide editorial review and quality assurance on regional press releases and content before release.

Reputation and Issues Monitoring

  • Track media coverage, public sentiment, and potential issues affecting the company’s reputation.
  • Prepare regular PR reports, media monitoring summaries, and insights for the Corporate Communications Head and management.
  • Flag emerging issues and recommend proactive PR actions or responses.

Crisis Communication Execution

  • Support the Corporate Communications Head during crisis situations by coordinating media messaging and monitoring media response.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to Regional PR Specialists to ensure the team’s professional growth and capacity building.

Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
    • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably leading a team of specialists or regional representatives.
    • Experience working with media in the energy or highly regulated industries is an advantage.
    • Proven experience in regional media engagement, content development, and crisis communications.
    • Proficient in planning and executing PR campaigns and media events.
