Mission of Position

The Public Relations Specialist is assigned to a specific region to support the implementation of public relations initiatives and local stakeholder engagement efforts. The role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with regional media, generating positive exposure for the company’s local operations, and supporting corporate communication goals through timely and localized execution of PR activities.He/She shall be accountable for the following areas:

  • Content development for public relations 

  • Media relations, monitoring, and reporting 

  • Stakeholder engagement and crisis communication

  • Event and coverage support 

  • Communications support to different tech groups and other departments

Regional PR Execution

Implement regional public relations plans and campaigns aligned with corporate messaging and communication priorities.

Localize key messages to suit the regional context, ensuring clarity and relevance for media and stakeholders.

Support the roll-out of national campaigns at the regional level through events, media outreach, and content dissemination.

Media Relations and Storytelling

Build and maintain strong working relationships with local media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and government information officers.

Pitch and secure local media coverage for corporate projects, events, and community initiatives.

Develop and write region-specific press releases, feature stories, and media advisories in collaboration with the PR Lead.

Stakeholder Engagement Support

Support local engagement activities such as community events, plant tours, and sustainability programs through media coordination and coverage.

Assist in documenting regional stakeholder feedback and identifying PR opportunities that reinforce the company’s presence in the region.

Crisis Communication

Assist in the execution of the crisis communication plan in the region during emergencies or reputational risks.

Coordinate timely and accurate information dissemination to local media and stakeholders, following approved messaging and protocols.

Provide real-time media monitoring and on-ground insights to support the Corporate Communications team in issue management.

Event and Coverage Support

Assist in organizing and coordinating regional PR events, media briefings, and community launches.

Ensure quality media documentation through coordination with multimedia teams or local suppliers.

OTHERS

Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience

Professional:   

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications.

  • Experience working with local media and government stakeholders is an advantage.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive in building and maintaining media relationships.

  • Excellent writing skills in both English and Filipino, with the ability to craft region-specific stories.

  • Familiarity with the media landscape and stakeholder environment in the assigned region.

  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with central communication directives.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deliverables on time.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
