Project Transition Specialist
This position supports the implementation of the organization’s Plan-to-Build Policy, ensuring that Renewable Energy (RE) growth projects transition smoothly from origination to operations. By tracking project activities, preparing materials for stage gate reviews, and assisting in operational readiness assessments, this role contributes to the successful and timely execution of projects. The position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and seamless project handovers.
Responsibilities (What-How-Why)
RENEWABLE ENERGY GROWTH PROJECTS TRANSITIONS
• Assesses and tracks RE growth project activities by analyzing project readiness data and ensuring alignment with the Plan-to-Build Policy and Stage Gate Project Management Model.
• Prepares and consolidates project documentation, including stage gate review requirements, by working closely with process owners and stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions.
• Facilitates coordination and communication between teams, ensuring that gate review meetings are well-organized, documented, and issues are proactively addressed.
• Analyzes project transition risks by identifying potential challenges and working with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
• Provides operational insights by conducting independent assessments and making recommendations to supervisors and management on project readiness and areas for improvement.
• Supports process owners and project leads by ensuring compliance with transition policies and addressing gaps in project execution.
• Supports the development and implementation of process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline project transitions and enhance efficiency.
OPERATIONAL READINESS REVIEW
• Manages and monitors ORR activities by tracking progress against operational readiness requirements and escalating issues as needed.
• Develops and refines ORR checklists and assessment criteria by collaborating with process owners, ensuring operational readiness standards are met.
• Facilitates ORR preparation efforts by conducting preliminary readiness assessments and coordinating essential workshops to align stakeholders.
• Conducts in-depth Walk-the-Line inspections by identifying potential operational risks and ensuring corrective actions are taken before turnover.
• Facilitates post-transition evaluations to capture lessons learned and implement best practices for future projects.
• Provides detailed reports and presentations on ORR status, highlighting key findings and recommendations to management for decision-making.
• Facilitates regular ORR sessions with ORR leads, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to drive resolutions, maintain momentum, and achieve operational readiness goals.
• Supports the development and implementation of process improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve the operational readiness review process.
MANAGEMENT, REPRESENTATION AND OTHER DUTIES
• Maintains / enhances employee integration and performance by screening team members during recruitment, communicating job responsibilities upon hiring, conducting employee orientation, evaluating performance, providing feedback to the employees and training/coaching as necessary to ensure competencies are built and improved.
• Drives the team to contribute to organizational goals by determining departmental objectives, planning activities, monitoring completion, evaluating outputs, and budgeting for required resources.
• Promotes HOLA—V culture by ensuring that the team members are engaged, participating in the culture programs, imbibes HOLA-V standards in their daily work routine and provides feedback if necessary.
• Ensures healthy, safe and secured work environment by determining, cascading, and implementing health, safety and security standards and processes, determining hazards in conducting activities, determining risks vs. objectives and providing mitigating and contingency actions.
• Ensures compliance to applicable policies, guidelines, procedures and work instructions through team participation in process cascades, closure of gaps based on audits, and raising of any misalignment to concerned groups
• Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate leader
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or any management or engineering-related course; relevant certifications such as Certified Project Management Practitioner are an advantage
- With at least one (1) year of relevant professional experience in project or portfolio management, preferably with involvement in cross-functional or organizational transition initiatives
- Must have successfully completed at least one (1) project from initiation to closure, demonstrating capability in planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery within agreed timelines and scope
- Leadership experience as a project lead for a minimum of one (1) year is preferred, showcasing skills in coordinating teams, allocating resources, and managing stakeholder expectations
