Project Staff - Data Corrector ( Geographic Information System)

Job Description:

The Project Staff - Data Corrector is responsible for identifying, verifying, and correcting inaccuracies in asset, customer, or infrastructure data within the GIS system. The role plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity and accuracy to support engineering, operations, and regulatory compliance. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in data handling tools, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for data validation and quality assurance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Asset Mapping and Data Correction

  • Review, validate, and correct data related to infrastructure assets such as poles, meters, and transformers.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of asset details including location, specifications, and conditions.

• Mapping Tools and Verification

  • Use mapping software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar GIS platforms to verify the spatial and attribute accuracy of assets.

  • Cross-reference maps, field data, and system records to identify and resolve inconsistencies.

• Collaboration and Communication

  • Coordinate with engineers, GIS staff, and other departments to ensure data alignment.

  • Provide support and timely feedback to internal teams and stakeholders.

• Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to company safety protocols during all field and system-related activities.

  • Identify and report any hazards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be at least a Senior High School graduate or a Bachelor’s degree holder
• Knowledgeable in GIS concepts, with experience or familiarity using GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data entry tools
• Able to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
