The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the timely delivery of quality products and services at optimum cost from the right sources and shall ensure the conformity of all purchasing transactions with the policies and set standards as mandated in all applicable documented procedures.
To come-up with a systematic process of planning and buying inventory or stock items. Guarantees no equipment shutdown caused by stock-out or delayed deliveries. Performing complex purchasing duties, including overseeing administration of all maintenance, service and other yearly agreements. Provides lead work direction to staff in the absence of the Procurement Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end purchasing for routine goods/services (consumables, office supplies, hardware, minor MRO, PPE, IT, vehicle upkeep), guaranteeing on‑time delivery, zero quality issues, and optimal cost.
  • Validates PRs and runs competitive sourcing: checks completeness, launches bids only to qualified/accredited suppliers, and secures at least three quotes.
  •  Negotiates and awards for best overall value, balancing price, quality, and delivery; issues and documents POs in full compliance with policy.
  • Drives performance & transparency: meets agreed KPIs, keeps stakeholders updated—especially on urgent needs—and promotes open information sharing.
  • Builds capability & governance: drafts special‑purchase contracts, helps plan bids, and trains peers on purchasing rules, procedures, and software.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Accounting.

  • Preferably a licensed engineer (for engineering graduates).

  • Must have average to above average proficiency in analytical thinking, communication, customer service, resilience, and computer literacy.

  • Preferably with relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, although professional experience is not strictly required.

  • Must be familiar with procurement processes including sourcing, price negotiation, contract preparation, supplier accreditation, and importation documentation.

  • Experience in handling or supporting annual maintenance/service agreements and dealing with suppliers or service providers is an advantage.
