Planning Engineer
Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, analyzing, designing and enhancing the company's power system to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and efficient electricity distribution. This includes forecasting energy and demand requirements, developing annual network project plans, designing substation and distribution lines, CAPEX justifications and implementing protection and control systems in compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting system simulations, designing safeguards for abnormal conditions, and evaluating system reliability to accommodate new customer requirements while minimizing adverse impacts and opportunity losses. It also entails creating operational plans, criteria, and procedures, and providing expert consultation on electricity distribution and economic system operations to support sustainable and efficient network management.
Job Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer.
- Preferably with at least 1-2 years of experience in power system planning, analysis, or design.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and analysis of substations, distribution lines, and protection systems is highly desirable.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in power systems engineering or planning are considered an asset.
- Preferably with a professional driver's license (at least A, B and B2)
