As Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for the Generating Units’ performance, identify recoverable energy losses, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, optimize power plant operations  and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Performance Data Solutions Team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Reviews plant data (e.g. Plant Operational Monitoring systems data) and performs trend analyses to detect presence of potential system / equipment problems.

  • Conducts periodic meter readings, together with steam supplier (PGPC) representative on specified plants and steam supplier’s meters to ensure accurate billing of the power generated.

  • Provides statistical trend analyses of steam -related and irradiance-related variances critical to plant efficiency, and recommends necessary action thus closing the gaps based on established data.

  • Conducts performance rating test as required for generating units to determine relevant improvements in the unit’s capability and efficiency.

  • Maintains operational related database of generating units.

  • Support the implementation of engineering Capital projects such as a review in design, documentation, resource allocations, time lines, safety aspects, pre-bidding process, Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) preparation.

  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.

  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.

 

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

  • Data analytics and processing skills

  • Technical writing, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Relevant technical knowledge and experience in power plant economics.

  • Computer Skills and Proficient in MS excel and Google Workspace and Applications.

 

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering or BS Chemical Engineering

  • 2 years of experience in Geothermal Power Plant or Thermal Power Plant



Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Computer Skills and Proficient in MS Office

  • Relevant technical knowledge and experience in power plant economics.

  • Technical writing, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Data analytics and processing skills
