Outage Planning Supervisor
This position is responsible for leading, planning, scheduling, monitoring and coordinating activities of all power plant equipment including power train (turbine and generator) and balance of plant (cooling tower, hotwell pump, etc.) during scheduled overhauling and emergency outages guided by the Outage Management Guideline through project management principles and tools. This position is also responsible for project and portfolio management for all GEO projects. The position provides primary support for establishing standard workflows for work requests, preventive maintenance program activities, project requests, major outage plans and project management.
OUTAGE PLANNING SUPERVISOR
- Direct and supervise development of comprehensive outage schedule and maintenance activity including work breakdown structure (WBS), resource, man-hours and duration to serve outage review and execution program template.
- Monitor, control and coordinate all outage execution for all work groups
- Coordinate with Supply Chain the timely availability of required resources and materials necessary for the outages including coordination with facility maintenance and operations, safety as well as with regulating bodies to ensure the outage execution is aligned to the plans.
- Utilize company software systems, such as IBM Maximo, Oracle E-Business Suite, Smartsheet, and others, to manage maintenance, inventory, procurement, and accounting transactions.
- Generates critical paths, identifies variances and constraints and provide an S-curve to properly track the outage
TEAM COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION
- Maintain regular coordination with various functional teams (RCM, PROD, SMW, CMS other functional/contractors) on work schedules, work output and assist evaluation of team accomplishment.
- Coordinate/assist with all GEO work groups and shared resources in identifying the required manpower, contractor’s performances and the expenditures for every activity done by maintenance on contracted projects.
- Collaborate with all GEO work groups and shared resources for the technical research in the upgrading of system or equipment and suggest asset or system modification that will enhance asset reliability and availability.
- Participates in the tool box meeting and regularly attend Facility OPSCOM.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT AND FUNCTIONS
- Consolidate maintenance reports such as equipment failure rates, job completion statistics, parts usage and costs, manpower utilization, and other key indicators that may be relevant for the improvement of plant performance and avoid re-occurrence of unit outage.
- Prepares and consolidates the Outage Report and presents all findings, lessons learnt, next steps in the post outage review.
- Consolidate annual maintenance schedule across the facilities and timely submission to the authority.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING
- Continuously upgrade skill and technical competencies of the Operations Planning team
- Optimize the use of manpower resources
- Conduct performance appraisal of direct reports
- Plan, monitor, approve work schedules, leave requests and local travels
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder in Engineering
- Must be a Registered Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineer
- At least 5 years of experience in plant project supervision and planning
- At least 3 years of experience in power plant planning and maintenance exposure
