Mechanical Technician

General — Responsibilities

• Performs regular preventive and corrective maintenance work on machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Performs troubleshooting of defective machinery or mechanical equipment. Identifies causes and extent of malfunctions and implements corrective repair or recommends replacement.
• Conducts periodic physical inspections of running equipment to detect leaks and abnormalities and reports to concerned sections to rectify abnormalities.
• Performs regular lubrication and/or greasing of all mechanical equipment to prevent unwanted breakdown or failure due to lack of lubrication.
• Assists other sections during repair of major equipment or installation, testing and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
• Monitors the availability of spare parts, tools, materials and supplies to ensure continuing operations.
• Encodes spare parts and other items not yet registered in the Maximo system.
• Undertakes fabrication of spare parts thru machining works to fit the equipment, as well as other items needed during any maintenance activities (e.g. bolts, pipes, flanges, etc).
• Monitors Mechanical related activities during planned outages. Reports any encountered issues to the Mechanical Supervisor.
• Documents maintenance and repair activities. Submits report to Supervisor.
• Reviews and updates works instructions.
• Updates status of work orders in Maximo, including man hours and spare parts used, and closes the Work Order in the system upon completion of work.

Safety, Health, Environment, and Housekeeping — Responsibilities

• Complies with occupational safety and health as well as environmental rules and regulations to prevent accidents, illness, and adverse effects on the environment.
• Complies with housekeeping policies within his/her area of responsibility during assigned shift to maintain standards of cleanliness and orderliness of plant equipment and premises.
• Performs correction and rectification of all assigned safety walkthrough and Watch-App findings.

Others — Responsibilities

• Conforms to the company’s Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Asset Management, Energy Management, Business Continuity Management System and Information Security Management Systems policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 55001, ISO 50001, and ISO 22301 Standards.
• Reports Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety events/incidents or potential events, or other security risks to the organization/ committees-in-charge.
• Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies
  • Maintains availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the TL.
