Mechanical Technician - Materials Handling
As a Mechanical Technician for the Materials Handling (MH) area, the primary duties include:

Maintenance Execution: Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) on critical mechanical equipment within the coal conveying system, including ship unloaders, conveyor belts, coal domes, stacker-reclaimers, and fly ash handling systems.

CMMS Utilization: Complete all maintenance work orders and document activities accurately within the plant's Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS/Maximo) to maintain complete historical equipment records.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to AboitizPower Life Saving Rules and to Local and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Policies, actively participate in daily toolboxes, and conform to plant quality and asset management standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001).

Outage Execution: Assist in the execution of major overhauls during plant outages. Support the identification and optimization of necessary spare parts and consumables required to carry out the timely completion of outages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience of at least 3 years as a Mechanical Technician, Skilled Mechanic or equivalent in a similar power plant or heavy industrial environment.
- Holds technical skills certification such as Pipe Fitting, Machinery Installation/Alignment/Repairs, Welding Technology, Valve Repairs, Conveyor Maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery commonly found in power plants, such as conveyors, turbines, generators, pumps, valves, compressors, etc.
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and alignment tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other technicians and engineers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to accurately document maintenance activities and reports.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
