Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of all of the mechanical components of the grid.

Inspects the plants on a weekly basis to monitor stability or efficiency of the mechanical system of the grid.

Inspects turbine parts and checks other operating parameters such as vibration and temperature to prevent bearing damages. Reports abnormalities observed to team leader. If needs repair, seeks approval from Team Leader.

Inspects Operator’s checklist on turbine conditions, temperature, vibration, and check for abnormalities.

Conducts tool box meetings with plant mechanics to check concerns in specific areas of assignment. Discusses abnormalities observed in the plants.

Implements work orders on repair of turbine parts. Ensures that work orders are done within budget, quality and schedule.

Assists and supervises the conduct of mechanical repairs.

Prepares work schedule of plant mechanics and ensure availability of mechanic at all times.

Monitors attendance and overtime of personnel and encodes their Daily Time Record for payroll purposes.

Prepares monthly accomplishment reports for electrical maintenance activities in the grid and submits to Maintenance Supervisor.

Attends grid meetings and raises concerns of the electrical maintenance team for proper action.

Responds to ISO requirements and Implements Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and determination of Controls (ORMP)/Aspect Impact Assessment for mechanical maintenance activities in the grid. Updates ORMP form as needed.

Conducts studies on INYOvation Projects for Operations and Maintenance and submits to immediate superior for review.
During Rehabilitation

Assists in the rehabilitation of equipment and ensures that parts are correctly installed.

Prepares billing reports on mechanical maintenance contracts.
Other Related Tasks

Evaluates performance of subordinates on a periodic basis to determine performance level and areas for improvement.

Complies with company policies and procedures, safety rules and practices.

Conforms to the company’s Integrated Management Systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.

Reports any Integrated Management System events/incidents or potential events or other risks to the organization.

Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference by:

Storing documents, forms, contracts, manuals, books and other documents to locked storage rooms/steel cabinets.

Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of all plant records necessary for operations.

Performs any other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by immediate superior consistent with the purpose of this role.
Minimum requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- License: Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer
- Experience: At least one (1) year of related experience in mechanical maintenance, with background on rotating parts in an industrial setting.
