Mechanic/Welder
This position is responsible for the maintenance, fabrication, and welding repair job during overhauling and major repairs of main turbine-generator, main valves, hot well pump, main condenser and other plant’s equipment piping’s (hot and cold) low and high-pressure vessels and various equipment parts.
- Perform mechanical, electrical and C&I equipment welding job requests related to plant equipment repair.
- Perform corrective maintenance work order (CMWO) and preventive maintenance work orders (PMWO) requiring welding work on affected equipment pipelines vessels etc.
- Special process production welding, i.e. preheating for bearing pull-out.
- Fabricate parts when spare parts for replacement are not available.
- Layout work in accordance with blueprints and sketches.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeeps of all equipment and tools used in the performance of his job.
- Comply with the economic use of supply and materials, good housekeeping safety and energy conservation guidelines.
- Perform buildup of turbine casing, diaphragm, coupling and seals using an approved welding process to restore design limits.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a High School Graduate, Technical-Vocational Graduate, or a Mechanical/Welding Technology Graduate.
- Must hold TESDA National Certificates (NC II) in SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical repair and welding.
- Possesses an above-average level of technical expertise in mechanical and welding operations.
