Materials Handling Operator

As a Plant Operator (Materials Handling), you will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of coal and ash handling systems, helping maintain uninterrupted plant operations while contributing directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Materials Handling Shift Supervisor, Control Room Operators, and Operations team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Operate and monitor coal and ash handling equipment, including ship unloaders, stacker/reclaimers, conveyors, and fly ash unloading systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
• Conduct equipment inspections, functional testing, and routine monitoring to identify abnormalities, initiate corrective actions, and maintain equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE), Permit to Work (PTW), and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate operational records, coordinate with the Control Room and field teams, and support continuous improvement, operator training, and emergency response activities.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a coal-fired power plant or related industry, preferably with at least two (2) years as an Assistant Plant Operator.
• Demonstrated knowledge of materials handling equipment and systems.
• PRC license is an advantage.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in operating and monitoring materials handling systems, equipment control panels, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of coal and ash handling operations, Permit to Work (PTW), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment troubleshooting, documentation, and safe operating procedures.
