As a Lineman ​I Trainee, you will perform line construction, maintenance, cable splicing, and emergency restoration across overhead and underground distribution lines. You will work closely with Gang Supervisors, Tools & Equipment Custodians, Warehouse Personnel, and Safety Officers to keep the power grid operating safely and efficiently.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Emergency Line Restoration & Response:

• Conduct restoration and diagnosis of broken primary and secondary distribution lines to re-energize power safely.

• Re-energize blown transformer cut-outs and lateral cut-outs by replacing fuses or defective cut-out units.

• Evaluate damaged kWh meters and replace them as needed on-site.

• Inspect leaning or broken utility poles to determine safety risks to the public and recommend immediate replacement to supervisors.

• Remain on-call to respond promptly to exigent emergency power outages and grid repairs.

Work Order Execution & Field Operations:

• Perform dead-line and live-line construction, maintenance, and hardware installations/replacements on overhead distribution, underground distribution, and sub-transmission lines.

• Execute specialized power cable termination, splicing works, and line inspections using Thermal, UV Scanning, and diagnostic equipment.

• Operate heavy distribution equipment, including bucket trucks, bull-wheels, tensioners, manlifts, and lighting rigs.

• Perform manual hole digging, pole erection, and routine checks on work tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Education: Graduate of any Electrical or Technical-related vocational/college course.

• Experience: Entry-level position; no prior professional, leadership, or project experience is strictly required.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Distribution & Line Construction: Practical knowledge of constructing, activating, and maintaining overhead and underground distribution lines in accordance with utility line standards.

• Live-Line Capabilities: Familiarity with implementation methods, safety standards, and procedures for working on energized 13.8kV / 23kV and 69kV lines.

• Heavy Equipment Operation: Ability to operate boom trucks, manlifts, bucket trucks, and other articulated vehicles while adhering strictly to traffic and safety regulations.

• Cable Splicing & Diagnostics: Proficiency in power cable termination, splicing, and utilizing diagnostic scanning tools (Thermal and UV scanners).

• Safety Protocols: Working knowledge of basic electrical safety, hazardous material handling, environmental guidelines, and ISO IMS protocols.
