As a Line Uprating Project Staff, you will be responsible for supporting the upgrading and enhancement of existing overhead power lines to increase their current-carrying capacity in response to growing residential, commercial, and industrial demand. You will assist in implementing critical line uprating works aimed at improving service continuity, reducing unplanned outages, and addressing safety-related concerns within priority segments of the distribution network. This role involves coordinating and executing project activities within a defined scope and timeframe to help ensure timely mobilization of resources, improved system reliability, enhanced safety performance, and the restoration of stable and efficient power service operations. You will work closely with the Distribution Network team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Assisting in the replacement and uprating of approximately 30 km of overhead primary lateral line conductors to 2/0 or higher capacity to support increased load demand and improve system reliability.

  • Supporting field implementation of line uprating works within the Visayan Electric franchise area, including Liloan, Consolacion, Mandaue, Cebu, Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, and San Fernando.

  • Coordinating on-site activities under the direct supervision of the assigned supervisor/foreman within the Distribution Services Department to ensure safe and timely project execution.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

 

  • Senior High School graduate or a graduate of any electrical vocational course

  • Preferably with Non-Prof or Professional Driver's License

  • Has experience in electrical work and TESDA training is an advantage

 

Technical / Functional Skills:

 

  • Has basic knowledge of overhead distribution line systems and electrical field works.

  • Can interpret simple technical drawings, line plans, or work instructions.

  • Is familiar with safe field practices for construction, maintenance, or uprating of power lines.

  • Willing to undergo Basic Lineman's Training (BLT)

  • Can follow technical specifications and assist in line upgrading and replacement activities.
