As Line Design Engineer; you will deliver the design and implementation of major CAPEX projects and selected customer requests on sub-transmission and distribution lines according to specifications, within budget, and on schedule based on established standards, applicable local and international codes, and regulatory provisions; and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Power System Design Department to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Responsible for the preparation of design criteria and deliverables of the approved line projects in a given regulatory period.
• Prepares Scope of Works & Schedule to ensure the efficient delivery of the design by listing all activities using MS Project.
• Check related designs by accessing previous approved designs & specifications in order to compare or improve the design.
• Check statutory & regulatory requirements to avoid legal issues concerning the design & implementation.
• Visits work sites and private and government offices to discuss design issues and list the possible line materials & equipment needed for design & implementation using any available transportation vehicles.
• Prepares construction plan to accurately provide presentation & geometric orientation of the existing & proposed designs using AutoCAD.
• Validates Pole & Line Design using PLS-POLE or PLS CADD to simulate the proposed line constructions in order to check the strength of the structures & conductor clearances.
• Specifies Materials by providing dimensions, mechanical and electrical characteristics of the item in order to ensure that materials are within the acceptable standards.
• Specifies initial input of civil works to prepare its design & budget if required in the project.
• Checks Overhead Line Design Criteria against the approved Overhead Line design manuals & other internationally accepted Guidelines to ensure public safety, minimize damage to the electrical devices, and meet the standards set by the company.
• Prepares Cost Estimates and justifications to support the proposed project, and to determine the impact of actual expenditures of the project.
• Identifies, Evaluate, & Records Design Changes to assess the impact of the changes, to ensure that the resulting line design is capable of meeting the requirements.
• Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in the preparation and updating of work orders related to distribution line assets.
• Documents projects design & estimates to record all data needed to implement the project by archiving all pertinent design documents.
• Leads the project team in the investigation of failures, detecting potential problems and make necessary catch-up plans.
• Inspect and manage the construction, fabrication, and installation ensuring that they all meet and conform to the specifications.
• Prepares material evaluation and recommends vendors technical offers.
• Conducts project closure and turnover of the project to the operating unit, complete with guidance and instruction on its proper maintenance & operation.
• Plans the efficient use of resources required to implement the tasks assigned to achieve the section’s programs and output.
• Develops a schedule for completion of line projects that effectively allocates the resources to the duties.
• Coordinates with fellow team members in carrying out assignments.
• Records and updates task monitoring sheets periodically.
• Participates in promoting 5S in the workplace including service vehicles and locker rooms.
• Files employee time records, meal subsidies and other necessary personal profile updates promptly.
• Monitors stock of materials needed in department operations and prepares requisition when necessary. Check with Materials Management for the timeliness of delivery or availability.
• Acts on and supports the safety initiative of the company.
• Stands as back-up to a fellow who is absent or on leave.
• Ensure one’s personal goals and development plans are aligned with the organization’s objectives and attained in the best means possible.
• Monitor and recommend requirements on materials and equipment to perform one’s role and responsibility.
• Facilitates necessary administrative tasks for regular company procedures such as but not limited to requests for payments, purchase orders and liquidations.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to the Safety, Health and Environment Manual, IMS Manual and other guidelines and policies related to EHS.
• Readily assumes tasks requiring immediate or urgent attention that may be reasonably assigned by the Team Leader.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Registered Electrical Engineer
• Driver's Licence (L1,L2,L3-PL-MT/AT)

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in Google Workspace, SketchUp, and Gemini AI
• Strong Skills in Managing Cloud-Based Productivity Platforms, Executing 3D Spatial Visualizations, and Leveraging AI-Assisted Workflows
