Financial Planning Specialist
Mission of the Function
Supports financial planning and management reporting for Transition Business Group within the region of scope. Develops ad hoc scenario/sensitivity analysis to support financially-informed decision making. Works and coordinates cross-functionally to support strategic and commercial initiatives.
Responsiblities
Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Prepares planning, budgeting and forecasting calendar in accordance to APFin schedule for roll out to cost center owners.
- Creates, improves, and distributes planning, budget, and forecast templates and forms.
- Cascades planning, budgeting, and forecasting policies, parameters, guidelines, and submission templates to budget owners to ensure conformity at all times.
- Assists budget owners of the Operated Companies and to Non Operated companies in the timely completion of quality budgets and forecasts by reviewing and challenging assumptions in line with Tier 1 financial objectives.
- Builds proposed budgets and forecasts into a financial model and validates results, iterating as necessary.
- Prepares presentations and decks for financial projections to ROPSCOM and ManCom for approval.
- Provides expense utilization reports (e.g., DER) against budgets and forecasts to budget owners to track progress and address potential risks and opportunities.
- Validates Authority for Expenditure (AFE) to ensure proper documentation and approval.
Management Reporting
- Monitors and reconciles cash flow and working capital requirements
- Handles cost-benefit analysis for IPGC and validates assumptions used.
- Develops ad hoc scenario/sensitivity analyses based on ongoing discussions with functional leads and up-to-date general market conditions to support financially-informed decision-making.
Business Partnering
- Works and coordinates cross-functionally with:
a) Commercial Business Unit/Energy Economics to support commercial strategies (e.g., contracting).
b) Fuel Management to ensure optimal fuel pricing and procurement strategies.
c) Operations and Maintenance to support plant reliability initiatives and existing business growth strategies and coordinates cross-functionally with:
a) Commercial Business Unit/Energy Economics to support commercial strategies (e.g., contracting).
b) Fuel Management to ensure optimal fuel pricing and procurement strategies.
- Collaborates with the Accounting/Tax Compliance/Accounts Payable teams for the timely completion and availability of financial statements and supporting information as required in the management reports.
- Coordinates with and provides support to other BUs/CSUs/groups/departments for all finance-related processes, requirements, and initiatives (e.g., budget/forecast, insurance inputs, etc.).
- Collaborates with non operated business counterparts Finance and Accounting Team and AboitizPower Finance and Accounting team in the completion and availability of financial information in the Report Package to ensure timely preparation of management reports.
Loan Compliance
- Monitors loan compliance and provides reportorial requirements.
- Ensures financial and strategic plans comply with loan covenants and highlights potential risks and recommendations to management.
Others
- Initiates and implements various process improvements to support evolving needs.
- Conforms to the company’s Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Asset Management, Energy Management, Business Continuity Management System, and Information Security Management Systems policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 55001, ISO 50001, and ISO 22301 standards.
- Reports Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety events/incidents or potential events, or other security risks to the organization/committees-in-charge.
- Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies. Maintains availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the TL.
