Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible in maintaining all electrical equipment such as generators, switchboards, and substations. The role includes installing and repairing defective meters, inspecting exciters, automatic voltage regulators, relays, oil circuit breakers and other electrical devices. The Electrical Technician also conducts transformer oil testing and checks dielectric strength to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Inspects/checks substation equipment, switchboards, and synchronous generators to determine its condition and defects using applicable electrical testing instruments. Records inspection findings and informs immediate superior for necessary actions.
• Reads and interprets plans, diagrams, drawings and specifications of assigned task.
• Installs and maintains metering devices, controls and accessories.
• Implements periodic electrical maintenance.
• Monitors electrical spare parts and consumables for use in maintenance and repair, and informs superior its status.
• Checks up power lighting & communication systems. Maintains electrical testing instruments. Does repair on electrical equipment; replaces busted lights and switches; maintains logbook of replaced and repaired equipment and submit reports to his immediate superior.
• Evaluates breakdown of electrical equipment, meters, motors and their performance; repair and recondition them for efficient use.
• During shutdown of turbine and generators, checks-up exciter, AVR and troubleshoot open windings.
• Checks substations, including transformers and other equipment therein.

Minimum Qualifications:

• • Must be a technical or vocational graduate in a field related to Electrical Technology or Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
  • Must be a holder of a TESDA National Certificate (NC II) in Electrical or Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
  • Preferably a Registered Master Electrician (RME).
  • With at least two (2) years of professional experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
  • With knowledge of the Philippine Grid Code and Philippine Electrical Code.
  • One (1) vacant position available in Benguet.
