Electrical Supervisor - Test and Diagnostics
ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR - TEST AND DIAGNOSTICS
The Test and Diagnostics Supervisor will be responsible to oversee and coordinate electrical testing and diagnostic activities across Hedcor group. As the Electrical Support Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems and equipment are properly maintained, tested, and repaired to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.
- Coordinate and supervise electrical testing and diagnostic activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and implement testing procedures and protocols to assess the performance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure that electrical systems and equipment are properly maintained and repaired to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
- Train and mentor electrical technicians to improve their knowledge and skills in testing and diagnostics.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation of electrical testing and diagnostic activities.
- Analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address any issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that electrical systems and equipment are integrated and operating efficiently.
- Analyze test data to identify trends to develop long terms plans in preventive/prescriptive maintenance
- Ensures that testing and diagnostics on power and distribution transformers, generators, protection relays, power capacitor, battery system, instrument transformers, lightning arresters, grounding system are conducted and supervised for ROR, Solar and Wind power plants.
- Ensures that condition based, preventive and corrective maintenance works are carried out according to applicable standards and practices.
- Ensures that thermal scanning on substations, switchboards/switchgears, generators, and transmission lines are conducted in accordance with the test plan.
- Ensures Calibration and verification protection relays, statistical meters and distribution metering.
- Ensure conduction of inspection and acceptance testing on all incoming and spare critical electrical materials and equipment (power circuit breakers, potential transformer, current transformers, surge arrester, disconnect switches and other electrical equipment).
- Studies and suggests improvement projects on electrical matters.
- Prepares annual test plan for ROR, Solar and Wind power plants.
- Checks/Inspects test equipment and ensures that all equipment or tools are in top operating condition.
- Prepares accomplishment reports, test results, diagnostics and makes the necessary recommendations for improvement.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets. Ensures that expenses are within the approved budget by monitoring and controlling operations and manpower expenses (overtime).
- Ensure testing and diagnostics are according to best practices and standards.
- Administer asset condition assessment and monitors status.
- Program equipment calibration plan and monitor implementations.
- Supervise and assist unplanned repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting activities for critical electrical equipment for ROR, Solar and Wind Power Plants.
- Provides technical support/data for regulatory requirements.
- Supervise new plants installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Manage documents and records of testing activities.
- Ensure positive work relations in electrical, customers and to the whole group by C2E and action plan implementation.
- Ensure electrical risk assessments are conducted and monitored annually for ROR, Solar and Wind power plants.
- Developing and implementing new technologies and best practices to improve the efficiency and reliability of the power plant's infrastructure.
- Involved in the growth direction such as brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Involvement in incoming RE plants such as but not limited to Technical acceptance, Electrical Asset acceptance, ORR, punch listing, design review, standardization
Qualifications:
- Must be a Bachelor's degree holder in Electrical Engineering
- Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer or Professional Electrical Engineer
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical testing and diagnostics
- Management skills in organizational situations. High Voltage Testing and Commissioning for ROR, Solar, and Wind Power Plants.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of electrical testing procedures and equipment.
- Proficient in analyzing complex data and developing solutions to improve performance.
- Preferably has the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
- Experience in the energy or utilities industry is a plus
