Power your future with AboitizPower.

As ESS Electrical Supervisor, you will take charge of on-site electrical execution, quality assurance, testing, and commissioning for our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, contributing directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Project Manager, EPC contractors, and cross-functional teams to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • BESS Project Execution & Site Supervision: Oversee and coordinate all on-site electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of BESS electrical components from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to commercial energization, ensuring seamless integration with the power grid.
  • Quality Assurance, Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous QA/QC standards, monitor EPC contractor workmanship, validate testing protocols (e.g., equipment adhesion, strength, and operational tolerances), and administer site Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and safety procedures.
  • Control Systems & Automation Oversight: Supervise the technical design, deployment, and testing of Energy Management Systems (EMS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA architectures to ensure safe, stable, and optimized facility operations.
  • Schedule, Cost & Change Management: Track project milestones and construction budgets, coordinate material deliveries against schedules, review/approve contractor invoices and change/variation orders, and actively mitigate site construction risks.
  • Technical Reviews & Reporting: Review contractor drawings, engineering designs, and technical proposals; resolve constructability issues; issue Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs); and consolidate weekly and monthly progress reports for leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Provide direct supervision, performance management, and guidance to field service personnel and site project teams while championing company IMS (Integrated Management Systems) guidelines and operational excellence.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

  • Drives Execution & Accountability: Possesses strong on-site troubleshooting skills and demonstrates rigor in monitoring contract deliverables, quality benchmarks, and tight project schedules.
  • Practices Courageous Authenticity: Leads teams with transparency, emotional intelligence, and integrity, resolving conflicts and making sound decisions under project pressures.
  • Excels in Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicates clearly and negotiates effectively with EPC contractors, consultants, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Is Detail- and Systems-Minded: Demonstrates deep technical curiosity toward modern automation, grid-interconnection standards, and digital project management workflows.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in power generation, substation, or energy storage (BESS) project execution.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience directly managing subordinates, site field staff, or cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years dedicated to capital project delivery from construction through testing and commissioning.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • In-depth expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems, battery energy storage systems, process control, and system dynamics.
  • Working knowledge of control disciplines: PLC, HMI, DCS, APC, and SCADA programming/troubleshooting (e.g., Citect, Wonderware, RSLogix, Siemens, Orion/Allen-Bradley).
  • Familiarity with industrial network communication protocols (Modbus/Modbus TCP, BACnet, OPC, LonWorks, TCP/IP, IRIG-B) and ladder logic design.
  • Exposure to power engineering software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or PSEE) and project tracking platforms (Wrike, MS Office, MSSQL/reporting databases).
  • Proven competence in constructability reviews, contractor invoicing, risk management plans, and construction QA/QC inspection protocols.
