As the Commercial Economics and Analytics Specialist you will be  responsible for supporting portfolio value creation through commercial investment analysis, asset valuation, revenue economics, forecasting, and advanced analytics and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with our Commercial Planning and Portfolio Management Team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities will be the following:

 

  • The role supports strategic growth initiatives including greenfield developments, brownfield expansions, acquisitions, divestments, and portfolio optimization activities by preparing market intelligence, commercial forecasting, and financial evaluation inputs to support decision-making processes.

  • The position supports coordination and synergy between market analysis, portfolio analysis, revenue management, corporate finance, strategy, and business development, helping ensure that commercial forecasts, simulation outputs, valuation models, and portfolio economics are aligned and translated into actionable business insights.

  • Additionally, the role supports the analytics function, contributing to the development of forecasting infrastructure, simulation platforms, automation initiatives, and data-driven analytical capabilities that enhance forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, and investment decision quality.



     

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who is competent in:

 

  • Financial & Valuation Modeling – Advanced capability in project finance, asset valuation, and investment modeling.
  • Commercial & Revenue Economics – Deep understanding of electricity market economics, asset profitability, and portfolio value creation.

  • Portfolio Strategy & Capital Allocation – Ability to evaluate investments and optimize portfolio returns

  • Power industry market dynamics and operations (Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Retail Supply)

  • Macroeconomic analysis and Econometrics, including energy demand forecasting

 

What You Will Need:

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any of the following:
    • Economics
    • Finance
    • Financial Engineering
    • Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Data Science
    • Other quantitative disciplines.

 

  • Professional: 

 

Essential:

    • Minimum of 1–3 years of cumulative experience in power project finance, corporate development, energy economics, investment banking, infrastructure advisory, commercial planning, or related fields.

    • Demonstrated experience performing analytics, forecasting, simulation, or commercial planning tasks.

    • Working knowledge of leveraging Python, R, SQL, VBA, or similar technologies to support analytical and forecasting processes.

 

Preferred:

    • Exposure to or hands-on project experience in asset valuation, commercial forecasting, financial modeling, revenue economics, or portfolio analysis within the power sector is an advantage.

    • Working knowledge of the Philippine electricity market (WESM, Reserve Market, Retail Competition and Open Access, and bilateral contracting) is preferred.

    • Exposure to electricity market modeling tools (e.g., EMCAS, Aurora, Plexos, R, LEAP) is an advantage, or a demonstrated strong interest and willingness to learn.

 

  • Relevant coursework, certifications, or continuing education in a quantitative or finance-related field is a plus.

  • Certifications: Preferred: Project Finance or Energy Market Certifications, Data Analytics or Programming Certifications
