As a Chemical Process Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the laboratory and its analysts—from target setting to target completion—and working together with the Chemical Services Superintendent in managing the entire Chemical Section of the Operating department

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop collaborative targets specific to the laboratory, align individual performance with set targets, create development plans, review work performance, and strategically delegate tasks.
  • Review QA/QC criteria for laboratory equipment (covering accuracy and precision), create or review chemistry procedures, generate technical reports, and evaluate nonconformities in water, coal, oil, and ash analysis to recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure your direct reports comply with all existing procedures and external government regulations, and perform risk assessments and mitigation.
  • Draft annual budgetary requirements for the laboratory and related plant chemicals, monitor budget utilization, and maintain an inventory system.

Education & Experience:

  • A graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, with Chemical Engineering and/or Chemistry-related licenses preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the Power Generation Industry, working either in a Laboratory or in Water Treatment.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of power generation technology, chemical processes, and interpreting quality parameters for water, coal, and oil.
  • Management & Soft Skills: Basic project and time management skills, ability to work independently or as a team player willing to share knowledge, and good interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Communication: Good command of the English language (writing and speaking), alongside the ability to organize and express ideas clearly and resolve conflicts appropriately.
  • Software Proficiency: Excellent command of MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
