This position is responsible for the conduct of laboratory and field testing, analysis, and other processes related to plant chemistry following applicable policies, standard procedures, laws and regulations to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operations of the Plant. The position is also responsible for contributing assistance and providing recommendations in the smooth operations of the water and wastewater treatment plants.

Chemical Laboratory Analyst

Location: Toledo City, Cebu

Job Level: Entry Level

As a Chemical Laboratory Analyst, you will conduct laboratory and field testing, analysis, and other processes related to plant chemistry to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operations of the Plant and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Water Treatment and Chem Laboratory Superintendent, Chemical Laboratory Supervisor, Operations and Maintenance Departments, SHE, and CSU to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Conduct sample testing and analysis of water and water effluent, coal receipts and feed, light fuel oil, and other materials (such as sand and limestone) following established procedures.
  • Conduct monitoring of the chemical quality of the plant’s operating systems and prepare reports on results and recommendations for appropriate action.
  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical laboratory equipment to ensure the quality of laboratory work.
  • Gather findings from laboratory methods and procedures, and report them to improve operating guidelines relative to production quality and compliance.

  • Maintains current knowledge of the most recent laboratory techniques and procedures by staying in touch with professional associations and scientific literature.
  • Complies strictly with occupational safety, health, and environmental rules, including proper chemical disposal and maintaining cleanliness in the plant premises.
  • Conforms to the company’s management system policies, standards, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, and other relevant standards.
  • Protects information assets from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of documents.


What You Will Need: Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a power plant generation plant chemistry program or 4 years of experience as an analyst in an industrial setting.
  • Registered Chemist or Chemical Engineer license required.

 

Technical / Functional Skills:

 

  • Proficiency in Laboratory Operations, Water Treatment Operations, and Laboratory Management.
  • Strong skills in Power Plant Operations and Chemistry Control, Regulatory Compliance and Permit Requirements, and Plant Safety, Health, & Environment Management.

Qualifications
