CAD Engineer
Job Mission
To ensure the operational safety, compliance, and reliability of the MakBan and Tiwi power plants by leading the comprehensive modernization of technical documentation. The P&ID CAD Engineer is responsible for the accurate site verification, digitization, and systematic updating of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). By converting obsolete drawings into reliable CAD references and establishing a sustainable document management system, this role eliminates the risks of catastrophic failure caused by outdated information and supports the plant’s long-term rehabilitation and innovation goals.
Core Objectives & Responsibilities
• Site Verification & Line Tracing: Conduct physical line tracing activities to verify existing diagrams against the actual plant configuration, ensuring that the "as-built" reality matches the technical documentation.
• CAD Conversion & Digitization: Convert all identified relevant P&ID drawings into high-quality, editable CAD files, resolving the issue of disorganized and obsolete technical libraries.
• Asset Data Management: Gather usable asset information during line tracing activities and implement temporary tagging for newly identified or additional assets to populate the system database.
• System Development: Help build and maintain a central system (database) to house P&ID files, ensuring they are accessible to the Operations Division (OPSDIV) and other departments for troubleshooting and future projects.
• Process Sustainability: Establish a sustainable process for P&ID updating that accommodates Engineering Management of Change (EMOC), ensuring drawings remain current after pilot units are completed.
• Safety Compliance: Execute all project activities while strictly observing safety and environmental rules to ensure zero incidents throughout the project lifecycle
