In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

 

1. Equipment Operation, Monitoring and Control

  • Operation: Operates the plant's boilers, turbine-generator, and auxiliary equipment from the Control Room following SOPs and specifications to ensure safe and reliable generation of steam and power.

  • Monitoring & Correction: Monitors, records, and evaluates equipment operating conditions in the Control Room to detect deviations from standards (operational, environmental, health, and safety) and other operating problems. Executes necessary corrective measures and promptly reports unresolved problems to the Shift Supervisor.

  • SOP Compliance: Ensures compliance with SOPs during unit start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.

  • SOP Development: Creates and updates SOPs for unit start-up, shutdown, emergency situations, and emergency response procedures for Control Room and Boiler-Turbine Operations.

  • Shift Handover: Ensures proper turnover procedures are followed before leaving the post or taking over the next shift to maintain a smooth transition of responsibilities.

 

2. Equipment Inspection, Maintenance and Repair

  • Testing & Analysis: Conducts scheduled routine and periodic operational and statutory testing, and prepares analysis reports for any abnormalities found.

  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinates with the Maintenance department for preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment to optimize performance.

  • Equipment Change-over: Performs change-over of auxiliary equipment and accessories based on the established schedule.

 

3. Recording and Reporting

  • Shift Reports: Prepares and submits regular shift reports on the status of Control Room operations for reference and use during shift turnover control.

  • Load Reporting: Prepares daily Generation Load Reports and SO Loading Log Instruction Reports for the midnight report submitted to NGCP.

  • Work Requests: Creates Work Requests in Maximo based on observed operational, health, safety, and environmental concerns.

 

4. Safety, Health, Environment, and Housekeeping

  • Compliance: Complies with occupational safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations to prevent accidents, illness, and adverse environmental effects.

  • Housekeeping: Complies with housekeeping policies within the assigned area of responsibility during shifts to maintain plant cleanliness and orderliness.

  • Emergency Response: Acts as the Communications Controller during Emergency Response Preparedness and takes charge of the communication system.

 

5. Other Duties

  • IMS Compliance: Conforms to company policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines across various management systems (Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Asset Management, Energy Management, Business Continuity, and Information Security) based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 55001, ISO 50001, and ISO 22301 standards.

  • Incident Reporting: Reports Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety events/incidents, potential events, or other security risks to the organization or committees-in-charge.

  • Partnership: Builds relationships with internal and external parties to create collaborative partnerships.

  • Information Security: Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference, and maintains the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents.

  • General Assignment: Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Team Leader (TL).

 

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering

  • At least 2 years experience in boiler-turbine operation of a power plant operation

  • Preferably Registered Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineer
