Assistant Control Room Engineer

As an Assistant Control Room Engineer, you will assist with the operation of the Boiler, Turbine-Generator, and related auxiliary equipment through the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient generation of steam and power.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Operate the plant’s boilers, turbine-generator, and auxiliary equipment from the Control Room following standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate operating conditions to detect deviations, execute corrective measures, and report unresolved problems to the Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with and update standard operating procedures during unit start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.
• Conduct scheduled routine operational testing, prepare abnormality analysis reports, and coordinate with the Maintenance department for preventive and corrective equipment maintenance.
• Prepare shift turnover reports, Daily Generation Load Reports to the NGCP, and create Work Requests in Maximo for operational, health, or safety concerns.
• Act as the Communications Controller during Emergency Response Preparedness, and strictly comply with occupational safety,

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in boiler-turbine operation within a power plant.
• Being a Registered Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineer is preferred

Technical / Functional Skills:

• System Operation: Familiarity with DCS Control Room set-ups and the ability to interpret control logic diagrams.
• Technical Comprehension: Working knowledge of equipment use and the ability to read and understand equipment instructional manuals and maintenance operating procedures.
• Software Proficiency: Ability to generate written reports using Microsoft Office applications or similar software.
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively using email, cell phone, radio, and telephone, alongside the ability to establish good working relationships.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of local laws, safety regulations, and departmental policies related to plant operations and occupational hazards
